Parents visit political prisoner Alinevich

Ihar Alinevich, who serves sentence in penal colony No. 10 in Navapolatsk, was allowed a visit with his family.

Charter97.org learnt it from his mother Valiantsina Alinevich.

“My husband and I had a short-term visit to Ihar. He can have three visits per year. We talked on the phone through a glass barrier. Our son looks cheerful, but he has fallen cheeks after 20 days in a punishment cell. I can say that his spirit remains unbroken. His humour didn't change,” the mother of the political prisoner says.

She noted they passed a parcel to Ihar.

“To our surprise, there were no problems with the parcel. They accepted everything except for dried mushrooms, shaving foam and nail nippers. Instructions don't allow to have such things. It's unclear how he will cut nails. They [prison guards] didn't even cut sausages. Ihar refused to take it because he tries not to eat meat,” Valiantsina Alinevich says.
