“Turn in guns to police and don't open windows”: Lukashenka going to Slonim

Alyaksandr Lukashenka is expected to visit the Worsted Spinning Factory in Slonim on Tuesday, April 9.

Brestskaya Street is being cleaned and repaired. A helicopter has been flying over the town for the third day, Viasna human rights centre reports.

Police officers visit people living on Brestskaya Street and Skaryna Street and order them not to open windows on Tuesday and turn in their hunting weapons to the police.

Town residents are not happy about such restrictions.

Some say they will not change their plans. Others are indignant: “Perhaps we should not go to work and send children to school on Tuesday.”

It should be reminded that it is an ordinary requirement for local residents not to open windows during Lukashenka's visits to towns.

Cows were not let out to pasture during Lukashenka's trip to the Talachyn district in the Vitebsk region.
