Interrogation for air balloons

  • 3.04.2013, 11:20

On 2 April the head of BChD Slonim’s office Ivan Biadko received a subpoena obliging him to show up at the local police department.

He is being summoned for a “conversation with a police major Khudio” at Slonim’s police department at 11 o’clock tomorrow, the human rights center Viasna reports.

Ivan Biadko called the police major Aliaksandr Khudio and asked why he was summoned to the police department. The police major said that the reason for that was the fact that on the Freedom Day he had launched air balloons into the sky together with the activists of Slonim’s association of democratic forces. But the policemen said that Mr Biadko would find out the details during a conversation in major’s office.

We would remind that Slonim’s authorities forbad holding a manifestation in the town of the Freedom Day. Nevertheless, democratic activists managed to celebrate the anniversary of the proclamation of Belarusian People’s Republic. The action took place under police surveillance.
