Participation in voluntary work day or threats of dismissal

Heads of state-run organisations in Rahachou threatened employees to make them participate in the voluntary labour day on April 20.

Those who refused to work without pay on their legal day off were threatened with termination of the employment agreement, the local website vrogacheve.ru reports.

Employers made deductions from wages of those who had good excuses not to attend the event, the education department of Rahachou informs.

Employees were ordered to sign a document, in accordance with which they made voluntary donations to the state. Those who refuse to sign the document may face serious problems, an employee of a nursery school says.
