“For good roads”: Car race under police control

  • 22.04.2013, 18:13

Drivers carried out the second car race “For good roads” in Mahilou.

As a week before, today's car race started at about noon on Lake Sviatoye. This time, several police officers were noticed filming the cars and drivers, BelaPAN news agency reports.

During today's race, drivers did not use slogans like “I pay taxes, where are normal roads?”, “For good roads!”, which could be seen on cars and leaflets on car windows during the previous race on April 14. Some participants used flags of 6 Region car club.

Drivers divided into some groups, each having its own route. They reached Pushkinski Avenue, crossed the Dnieper River, reached Ordzhonikidze Square and moved along Pianerskaya and Karl Marx Streets. They were followed by road police cars, which, as race participants claim, even violated the traffic rules driving through a red light and driving in the opposite lane.

Some drivers are reported to have been stopped and charged with violating the traffic rules.
