Three members of the organising committee to form the Belarusian Christian Democracy party were detained in Brest on March 18 during the Wave of Solidarity marathon.

The BCD's press service reports that Ulad Barouski, Yauheny Khaziakhmetau and Andrei Sharenda were detained as they were hanging out national white-red-white flags.

The activists are in the Maskouski district police department, BCD regional coordinator Dzmitry Shukhrai says.

The Wave of Solidarity marathon is a campaign to support the political prisoners. The campaign is being held in 37 towns across Belarus to be finished on Freedom Day in Minsk.
