Opposition activist arrested on Human Rights Day

Illia Dabratvor was detained today in Minsk's Tsentralny district police department.

A police squad visited his flat yesterday and left a summons ordering Illia Dabratvor to come to a police station to make a report over participating in a picket near the Ukrainain embassy on November 30.

The activist visited the police department today. He was detained and presented with administrative charges. Illia Dabratrov will be tried tomorrow. He remains in custody.

Activists of the European Belarus campaign, the movements Razam and Alternative held a picket near the Ukrainian embassy on November 30 to support the Euromaidan rally. They lit candles and raised Belarusian, Ukrainian and EU flags.

Participants of the picket didn't hide their faces.

Illia Dabratvor, a father of five children, is an activist of the movement Razam. He was sacked for his political activity. Illia and Vasily Parfiankou's father had a car accident on December 6.
