Alexander Andriyevsky dismissed as Dinamo Minsk head coach

Alexander Andriyevsky was dismissed as HC Dinamo Minsk (KHL) head coach on 23 November.

The move came one day after a 1-4 loss to Salavat Yulayev Ufa on 22 November extended Dinamo’s losing streak to six games. The Belarusian team is on the bottom of the Western Conference with 21 losses since the start of the 2013-14 KHL regular season.

“Due to unsatisfactory performance of the Belarusian ice hockey team and failure to meet the tasks set forth by the Supervisory Board, Alexander Andriyevsky has been dismissed as HC Dinamo Minsk head coach. Chief coach Lubomir Pokovic has been promoted to acting head coach,” the HC Dinamo Minsk’s website said.

Alexander Andriyevsky has headed Belarus’ only representative in the Kontinental Hockey League twice: in the 2009-10 season and in the 2012-13 season up to the present.
