Negative balance of foreign trade in goods in the 9 months of 2013 looks threatening.

Altogether the imports exceeded exports by 484,5 million dollars and accounted to negative 3263,4 million dollars in January-September 2013, Belstat reports.

In the same period last year the foreign trade balance was positive and accounted to 1481,9 million dollars.

For the accounting period the exports decreased to 28557,3 million dollars, the imports – to 31820,7 million dollars.

In the trade with Russia the negative balance accounted to 4525,3 million dollars, which is significantly less than last year. Due to the smuggling of the so-called solvents and thinners in January-September 2012 the negative balance accounted to 9577 million dollars.

In January–September positive balance remains in the trade with the EU, however in September the excess of imports over exports was registered for the first time. In the reported period it accounted to 665,8 million dollars (686,9 – in January - August). For comparison, in the same period in 2012 the positive balance accounted to 8395,6 millions dollars.
