Investigation Committee confirms arrest of Uladzimir Voukau

A deputy director of Belneftekhim was detained for bribery.

An official representative of the Investigation Committee of Belarus, Yulia Hancharova, confirmed in a conversation with charter97.org that Uladzimir Voukau, who was responsible for oil refining, export and import of oil products, was detained.

We remind that the Investigation Committee of Belarus said on Tuesday that a criminal case against a deputy head of Belneftekhim company was detained on suspicion of accepting a bribe. There was no information regarding which of four deputy director was detained.

The suspect was detained after accepting a part of a bribe from a legal entity representative for solving an issue on processing of oil by-products at the refinery.

“The official was detained in his office. He illegally received $19,000 since February till October. Investigators are working with the detained person,” the Investigation Committee said.
