Lukashenka wants to invite 10,000 migrant workers to Belarus

Belarus is ready to accept 10,000 people for permanent residency.

This statement was made by Lukashenka today at a press conference for Russian journalists, BelTA reports.

During the last 5 years, over 35,000 people from Russia arrived in Belarus for permanent residency and about 9,000 Belarusians received residence permits in Russia. The figures speak for themselves, Lukashenka thinks.

“Our greatest problem is not money (though it is always a problem in this turmoil, in this market economy), but people. We need twice as many people as we have today in our territory: we need 20 million, not 10 million. We can easily feed them. But they will work and increase production,” the Belarusian ruler said. “If Russian citizens from any region want to come to us, they are welcome.”
