Kazakhstan may become a WTO member already in 2013 and Belarus is at the remote stages of the membership negotiations.

The head of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Pascal Lamy reported about that, according to Interfax.

“I would express my assumption that even this year we will be able to observe Kazakhstan joining WTO”, - Lamy told journalists in a lobby interview at the Gaidar forum in Moscow on Thursday.

He noted that Belarus is currently at the remote stages of the WTO membership negotiations and that is why is difficult to tell when the country be able to become the organization’s member.
