Three consitituencies will have only one candidate at the oncoming “election”.

Constituency election commissions denied registration to 124 applicants. 362 persons were registered as parliamentary candidates.

This figure was voiced by head of the Central Election Commission (CEC) Lidzia Yarmnoshyna in Panorama, an evening news programme on Belarusian TV. She said 7 candidates, who were registered by constituency commissions, later refused to run in the parliamentary race.

According to Yarmoshyna, three constituencies have only one registered candidate. It means that the elections there will be non-competitive if the CEC doesn't cancel its decision to deny registration of candidates in these constituencies, Radio Svaboda reports.
