  • 6.07.2012, 9:41

Alena Semenchukova was sentenced to 10 days in custody yesterday in Vitebsk.

The judgement was delivered by judge Inna Hrabouskaya. Even police officers Zaitsau and Razhkou, who had detained the activist, were surprised to hear this court decision, the BCD press service reports.

Hrabouskaya explained it was the second detention of Semenchukova during the year. The judge said the activist neither studied nor worked (in actual fact, Alena is going to enter a university this year). Alena Semenchukova said he would go on hunger strike upon arrival in a detention centre.

As charter97.org website reported yesterday, the activist of European Belarus civil campaign was detained on June 29. Policemen found leaflets calling for “election” boycott in her bag.
