The Belarusian dictator defends Assad and Ahmadinejad.

“We have no geopolitical ambitions, but we should defend our national interests and bolster military security of Belarus. For this aim the modern army exists,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said Thursday at a meeting with graduates of military institutions of Belarus and Russia.

The dictator noted “Even by the second decade of the 21st century, the mankind failed to invent reliable mechanisms to ensure security in the world.” “Politicians of global superpowers still prefer speaking the language of force while talking to the nations that resist their influence,” Lukashenka said. According to him, a vivid example of this state of things is “the events in Iraq, Egypt, and Libya, the situation of Iran and Syria”.

Speaking about strengthening the military security of the country, Lukashenka stated Belarus managed to ensure “high moral spirit and professional qualities of the army and preserve respect for the military in the society”. “We have the future of this well-functioning system in our hands,” the head of state said addressing graduates of military education institutions. Lukashenka said they would deal with combat readiness and equipment of troops on a daily basis. “Enhancing the feeling of patriotism among the military should be a priority,” the dictator stressed.
