Yarmoshyna: Тhe "Elections" are sluggish

The Central Election Commission of Belarus does not expect a big contest during the nomination of representatives to district election commissions.

This was reported to journalists by the Chairman of the Central Election Commission Lidia Yarmoshina, informs BelTA.

Lydia Yarmoshina participated in a seminar of Minsk ideological asset called “"Elections" to “the House of Representatives" - the most important political event of the Belarusian state".

Nomination of representatives to the district election commissions shall be held no later than August 5.

The Head of the Central Election Commission emphasized that the approaches to the selection of candidates for district election commissions do not change. As always, local authorities will choose to place people of a "good reputation" into these commissions.

Commenting the current stage of the campaign (July 19 is the deadline for submission of a member list of the initiative group and an application for registration of the group to district election commissions), Lydia Yarmoshina noted that the elections are sluggish. "Frankly speaking, I worry for the voters. I wish that they were interested. And it is interesting only when there are interesting and worthy candidates", - said the chairman of the CEC.
