Members of the Belarusian “parliament” and representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR mission have a meeting behind closed doors.

Belarus is ready to put all efforts to hold the “parliamentary election”, which is scheduled for September, in full compliance with the national legislation and international standards, the head of the state construction, local government and regulations commission of the “house of representatives”, Vasily Baikou, says.

The MP noted OSCE/ODIHR observers were among the first to receive invitations from Belarus to monitor the “election”, Interfax news agency reports.

Armin Rabitsch, the OSCE/ODIHR Senior Election Adviser, noted the meeting was unofficial and working and said he would like it to be held behind closed doors without media representatives.
