Ukraine’s Obolon in talks over Brestskoye Pivo deal

The Ukrainian Obolon brewery is in talks to acquire the Brestskoye Pivo brewery.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Ukraine Valentin Velichko said about it at a session in the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry on 10 July, BelTA learnt.

“Currently Obolon is in talks to buy the Brest brewery. Yet, the deal will go through only if the Ukrainian party meets all necessary conditions. Among them are the provision of new technologies and maintaining of jobs. The issue of possible conversion of the facility is also on the agenda,” the Ambassador said.

Valentin Velichko noted that this acquisition is attractive for the Ukrainian company. Thus, Obolon will gain the right to trade in the 5-kilometer border zone with the European Union.
