Verkhovna Rada member: Lukashenka behaves like a fool

Ukrainian politicians think attending the Euro 2012 football championship by Lukashenka is inappropriate.

Taras Chornovil, a deputy head of the foreign policy committee at the Verkhovna Rada, reminds that the head of Belarus has not apologized to the Ukrainian authorities for calling them “lousy”:

“Lukashenka's behaviour is strange. I dare say he behaves like a fool and I personally cannot understand it. I criticize our government, but what can be discussed with such a person? Of course, one should not react to every, to put it mildly, unwise remark. If we had some hopes for radical changes in Belarus under the current authorities, for building a democratic society and so on, it would be possible to demand something, make harsh statements and show reactions. As I see it, no one hopes much on this. But in this case, we don't need Lukashenka to appear here,” a Ukrainian MP told Radio Svaboda.

We remind the president of Ukraine invited Alyaksandr Lukashenka to attend the final of the Euro 2012 football championship in Kiev, Belarusian Ambassador in Kiev Valyantin Vyalichka said yesterday.
