Belarus prepares new bill for Russia

  • 11.05.2012, 16:01

The Belarusian authorities are going to deliver an additional bill from Russia for integration services, adding Russia's accession to the WTO to Belarus's expenditure account.

“A comprehensive report by the Ministry of Economy and the MFA assessing the impact of Russia’s WTO accession for Belarus should be prepared for the forecasts of socio-economic development for 2013 and 2015,” Belarusian PM Myasnikovich said today, AFN news agency reports.

A package of measures to protect (close) Belarusian market from the negative impact of the WTO is expected to be prepared regardless if Russia agrees or disagrees to pay the bill.

“A package of legislative acts should be prepared to minimize the risks,” Myasnikovich says.

Besides, Belarus can raise fees for the current integration services – involvement in the Common Economic Space – as this projects still does not meet Belarus's expectations.

“... What have really been done? What projects and initiatives were proposed? Unfortunately, we have nothing to boast here,” the Belarusian PM admitted.
