Activist from Varnyany Mikalai Ulasevich continues to seek justice from the local authorities.

He and human rights activist Ivan Kruk from Astravets sent a special appeal to the Prosecutor General of Belarus some days ago. On April 28, Ulasevich visited the deputy chief of Astravets police. The activist demanded to show him documents regarding to the search of his house on April 26. Mikalai Ulasevich was on Chernobyl Way rally in Minsk on that day. The search to find printed materials was carried out in the presence of his wife. There's no exact information what was seized by police and probably security services during the search, Viasna human rights centre reports.

The chief of the district police showed Ulasevich a search warrant. He did not have other documents. Mikalai Ulasevich filed a complaint to the prosecutor of the Astravets district. The activist is confident there were no legal grounds to search his house, so actions by law enforcement officers were political persecution for his involvement in the public initiative “Asttravets nuclear power station is a crime”.
