Would-be strikers called on carpet

  • 2.02.2012, 9:49

Sportloto lottery ticket sellers say they were called to talk to their bosses after the announcement of a strike.

12 ticket distributors wanted to get compensation for working in cold weather. Their usual pay is 10% of the revenue from sold tickets, but they are supposed to get 30% in winter. The ticket sellers did not receive their cold weather bonuses this winter and announced a strike on January 31.

Instead of the strike, the ticket sellers had to go to their bosses, who decided to check quality of their work.

“They scared they would dismiss us,” a ticket seller told Radio Svaboda in an interview. According to the woman, the ticket distributors were accused of an attempt to discredit the company. The management promised to draw conclusions from the incident. The woman does not rule out the protesters may face dismissal.
