As informed by Radio Svaboda, according to the BCD, unity of the democratic forces “is one of our aims”. Despite differences in tactics, the democratic forces can put forth common demands to the regime together (to release political prisoners, to change the electoral legislation, registration of political parties and public associations). In addition, as said by the BCD, the democratic forces can carryout mass monitoring and the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.

“Differences in the tactics within one coalition is an indicator of different motives and different statuses of subjects (some are registered, others not, some are right, others the left). The campaign will show whose tactics is to become more successful,” the statement reads.

The BCD has called upon other democratic parties to hold wide public discussion in the regions before March 25 on the format of opposition’s participation in the “election”, attracting attention of citizens, Belarusian activists ad independent media.
