Andrei Nikalayeu stops hunger strike at Khalip’s request

Andrei Nikalayeu stopped his hunger strike after Iryna Khalip appealed to him asking to end the strike.

We remind that Andrei Nikalayeu, who was also involved in the December 19 case, went on hunger strike on January 27 after information appeared that presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov was tortured in prison, “Narodnaya Volya” newspaper writes.

Iryna Khalip, the wife of the political prisoners, asked Andrei Nikalayeu to terminate his hunger strike explaining her aim will never be achieved in the current political situation. Andrei Nikalayeu said: “I agreed with Iryna Khalip. She is right. It’s better to be alive and able to help Sannikov and his family than ill and unable to do something useful.”
