MFA calls Germany’s decision absurd

The Ministry of International Affairs of Belarus called farfetched the decision of the German authorities to withdraw their military attaché from Minsk.

“Germany has the right to define the structure and the areas of the work of its diplomatic representatives. However it is clear from the voiced statement that this step is farfetched and it contradicts common European efforts aimed at strengthening security.

We assume that the decision is linked to the political struggle between parties inside Germany. Getting carried away by partisan maneuvers, German political actors lose common sense and make absurd decisions. In this context the Minister of Defense can only be sympathized as it is well known that absurd has no limits”, - the MFA’s statement reads.
