The leader of European Belarus civil campaign visited the head office of Amnesty International.

On the International Human Rights Day, December 10, former presidential candidate Andrei Sannikov discussed the state of Belarusian political prisoners with human rights activists and told them about especially difficult situations of Mikalai Statkevich, Zmitser Dashkevich, Mikalai Dzyadok and Mikalai Autukhovich who are kept in closed prisons in complete isolation and unbearable conditions.

The politician spoke about his prison experience.

“The information from Andrei Sannikov is very important for our work relating both to freedom of assembly and rights of prisoners. The information will be used for more effective work of our organisation.

Andrei Sannikov participated in the marathon of solidarity held by our activists all over the world and signed the petition to support fighters for freedom and human rights from different countries,” said Heather McGill, Amnesty International's researcher on Belarus.
