Artists and journalist detained in October Square

Activists were holding a performance “Difficulties of expression in public space”.

It occurred at 1:00 p.m. Artist Mikhail Hulin and three assistants were walking through the square carrying abstract objects in hands. Nasha Niva photo correspondent Tatyana Haurylchyk was filming the performance. Riot police officers came to the activists and asked to follow them for identity check. The activists got on a police bus to be taken to the Tsentralny district police department, Euroradio reports.

Mikhail Hulin says that policemen were polite in the beginning. But when the detainees refused to undergo fingerprinting procedures, law enforcement officers used physical force. The activists didn't see police reports. They remain at the police department, but policemen let camera operator Tatyana Haurylchyk go.
