Alyaksandr Kazulin: Lukashenka scolds because he feels helpless

Alyaksandr Kazulin, a former political prisoner and 2006 presidential candidate, comments for charter97.org on the recent remarks Lukashenka made as he accepted credentials from the ambassadors of foreign countries. The dictator called Brussels' policy “lame and biased” and said he expected the European Union to “make steps to restore confidence” in the Union.

“Policy of the European Union begins to annoy Lukashneka, especially ahead of foreign debts payment. He scolds. He always scolds if he feels helpless,” Alyaksandr Kazulin thinks.

“Lukashenka begs the EU to mend relations with him, but his manners are a bit strange,” the politician said.

“I don't think the EU will react to these remarks. The stronger does not react to annoyance of the weaker,” the former political prisoner marked.

“Lukashenka had better release all political prisoners instead of attacking in such a manner,” the 2006 presidential candidate said.
