Russia comes out against politicization and exercising double standards in the realm of human rights.

“There are quite a few distortions here and we will continue looking for approaches for solving the problems which pop up and not allow their politicization”, - the head of the Russian MFA Sergei Lavrov said on Tuesday at the opening of the session of the joint board of foreign ministries of Russia and Belarus.

“There should not be double standards here”, - Lavrov highlighted, Interfax-West reports.

He also spoke against imposition of single-sided approaches towards the human rights discourse from the outside.

On his part, the head of the Belarus’ MFA Uladzimir Makei expressed his anxiety over the West’s attacks on Belarus due to the situation with human rights.

“We believe that we have a large filed for joint activity here”, - he said at the opening of the session.

Both ministers expressed their concern over the attempts of third countries to falsify history.
