Four people were detained during a memorial action devoted to the rebels of 1863.

First, two participants of the event were detained for white-red-white flags, Radio Svaboda reports.

Later Ales Krot and Stanislava Gusakova were detained for allegedly violating the action’s rules of conduct.

Around thirty people took part in the action. Among the speakers was a former political prisoner Siargei Kavalenka.

Since 1996 there has been an annual event in Svislach. Couple of years ago a tomb of Kastsus Kalinouski’s older brother Viktar was found there and restored. Also the foundations of the gymnasium where Kalinouski brothers studied and their family’s manor were discovered. The participants of the action traditionally lay flowers to the monument of Kalinouski.

The trials over the detained will be carried out on Monday.
