8 days’ detention for calling in police

A Babrujsk dweller Syarhei Kuntsevich was arrested in the court of Savetski district of Minsk.

On July 6 he was in Minsk. In the Park of Nations’ Friendship he was to meet his friends at 8 p.m., “Narodnaya Volya” writes.

As said by Kuntsevich, he came 15 minutes earlier. Suddenly he saw some bandits seized a guy and dragged him into a car. People around started shouting: “Police! Police!” Kuntsevich took a mobile phone and called to police. He was pleasantly surprised to see policemen to arrive in just a few minutes. He ran up to them with the words: “It was me who had called in police. Some thugs are attacking people. We also have witnesses here.”

Policemen seized the man immediately. Only in the police department he learnt that a silent protest had been held in the park. The judge formally listened to the story of the man and he was sentenced to an eight days of imprisonment.
