Protesting motorists got away with fines

The court of Central district of Minsk has tried cases of participants of the motorists’ protest in Minsk on June 7.

An activist of the United Civil party Dzmitry Kavalgin was fined 700,000 rubles. Notably, a riot policeman Raman Sharbetski, who had detained him, and witnessed in the court, “did not recognize” him. The case was tried by judge Leanid Yasinovich.

An activist Alesya Makas was fined 525,000 rubles. (Judge – Alyaksandr Khadanovich). By the way, Alesya Makas was detained yesterday at 8.30 p.m. in Independence Avenue near Yanka Kupala park for standing with a poster “Stop Petrol”. During the detention Dzmitry Kuvalgin tried to protect her, but was also arrested and taken to the police department of Central district of Minsk, “Vyasna” human rights centre informs.

Pavel Hruzdzilovich has been also fined 20 basic units (Br 700,000). The verdict was delivered by Judge Valery Yesman.
