Freedom House, an independent watchdog organization, has released its annual report identifying the world’s most repressive regimes.

Nine countries, including Libya, North Korea, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Tibet (China’s territory), received the lowest score on political and civil rights.

Belarus was placed among the countries on the verge of becoming the most flagrant human rights abusers. Belarus shares the second-worst place of most repressive regimes with seven countries and two territories, including Cuba, China, Syria and North Ossetia.
