People, who attacked KGB building in Babruisk, being tried

A trial over Yauhen Vaskovich, Artsyom Prakapenka and Pavel Syramolatau, charged with arson of a KGB building in Babruisk (part 2 of article 339 of the Criminal Code “Malicious hooliganism”) started in Babruisk at 10:30 am on May 5.

The accused may face from 7 to 12 years in prison, Viasna Human Rights Centre reports.

Journalist for “Babruiski Kuryer” Yauhen Vaskovich was detained in Mahilou on January 17.

We remind that the KGB building in Babruisk was attacked by at late night of October 16, 2010. Police detained an activist of the anarchist movement, Syarhei Slyusar, and searched his house. Later, he was released because investigators failed to prove his involvement in the incident.
