Poland may impose sanctions against the Belarusian firms backing the regime of Lukashenka.

This statement was made by Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski at a press conference in Bydgoszcz, hosting the foreign ministers of the Weimar Triangle countries (Poland, Germany and France), RIA Novosti reports.

“We will increase pressure on the Belarusian regime until it changes its course. This means very targeted sanctions against certain firms, not the general embargo, but the measures that could affect the firms backing this regime,” Sikorski said.

The parties discussed the situation in Belarus at the Weimar Triangle meeting and said this issue would also be touched upon at the nearest meeting of the EU foreign ministers on Monday.
