Anecdote? Who wants to live in America

  • 20.05.2011, 10:13

An epidemic of absurd is spreading across the country. Our readers write.

After announcing a policy of tightening screws and Andropov-style “improvement of labour discipline”, charter97.org receives plenty of letters from its readers about “creative” approaches of the local authorities.

In most cases, we cannot check if the information is true or false, but the stories look like anecdotes. But this is a story we cannot but offer you.

As our reader writes, the State Control Committee has recently visited a secondary school in Minsk. Officials came into the classroom where first-grade pupils were having a lesson and asked: “Who wants to live in America?” “I, I, and I” shouted kids all together. A deputy headmaster on ideology was fired on that very day. Dismissal of the headmaster is under question.

A reader, who sent the news, refused to say the number of a school.
