Investigatory actions contradict the official version

Today Andrei Sannikov has been called for questioning to the Minsk regional prosecutor’s office in the case of the death of Aleh Byabenin.

The leader of the civil campaign "European Belarus", presidential candidate has been called in for interrogation by investigator Azarevich. The politician will come to Minsk regional Prosecutor’s Office at 16.00.

«I am summoned for questioning though the official version of Aleh’ death had already been announced. They demand to offer the car found near Aleh’s summer house for inspection, and they intend to interrogate me, although I was questioned at the scene. The car was driven away from the summer house by me and Aleh's brother after asking the police many times whether we should leave it or drive is away. The car was inspected, no items were seized. We were told that “it would be better to drive it away”.

Yesterday it was reported that the Prosecutor General's office joined in conducting this case, and it demonstrates that not everything is alright with the version that had been offered officially. Everything will go according to a well-tried scenario: searches, confiscations, intimidation and pressure instead of investigation of the journalist’s death. Dictatorial services are used to persecute the opposition, instead of pursuing their professional activities,” -- Andrei Sannikov told.

We remind that the body of the founder and chief of charter97.org website Aleh Byabenin was found hanged on September 3 at 5.30 p.m. in his summer cottage near Minsk. Law-enforcing agencies hurried to inform that it had been a suicide. However, colleagues of the journalist inform that the death of Aleh Byabenin invites many questions. Forensic experts have got mixed up even about the date of the journalist’s death. Aleh Byabenin had left no suicide note. He had vast plans. He left a widow and two sons. He was a key player in the team of Andrei Sannikov, an oppositional candidate for presidency.
