Russia to hit BelAZ

Russian mining enterprises don’t like Belarusian dump trucks preferring to use car of other manufactories.

The Russian governmental subcommittee on customs tariff policy of Russia approved a proposal on reducing the rate of duties on import of trucks with gross weight over 200 tons from 25% to 15%. As a press release of the government’s pres service says, a decision on reducing the duty to 15% was taken without the previously commodity classification detailing, “Nasha Niva” newspaper reports.

Trucks with more than 200 tons of weight, mainly mine dump trucks, are used in the mining industry.

Belarus produces BelAZ dump trucks. Opening Russian market for other manufactures will affect the Belarusian plant.
