About ten activists of the civil campaign Tell the Truth were detained during handing out appeals to prospective students in Minsk on June 15.

The detentions were carried out near Belarusian State University, Belarusian State Economic University, and Minsk State Linguistic University.

As BelaPAN learnt from Mikhail Pashkevich, a campaign activist, people detained near the Belarusian State University were taken to the Maskouski district militia department. They gave their explanations on filming on the territory of the university and were set free. No reports were drawn up.

The activists detained near other universities were taken to the militia departments of the Zavadski and Frunzenski districts. Reports on distributing leaflets are being drawn up against them.

An appeal of poet Uladzimir Nyaklyaeu, the leader of the Tell the Truth campaign, was handed out to prospective students before a test in the Russian language held today. The appeal wished the youth to “make a right choice of right ways”.

Appeals to prospective students are being handed out in Minsk and other towns of Belarus. About 3000 leaflets have been distributed in Minsk.
