As informed by Radio Racyja, an activist of the Young Front connects the change in relation to him from commanding officers with his participation in the election campaign.

As said by Yauhen Skrabets, all correspondence which was received by him from the middle of February, is received damaged, while some letters haven’t been received by Skrabets at all.

“I planned to participate in the “election” as an independent candidate through registration of an initiative group. But while I am in the army, in is hard to have latest information about the dates of filing applications for registration. As I was told by my friends, comrades-in-arms, commanding officers found out that I wanted to participate in the “election” in Zhlobin constituency #17. Today I have learnt from Zmitser Dashkevich that he had sent me a letter with blanks for applying for registration of an initiative group. However, this letter hasn’t been received by me. I think that most likely the letter was stopped. And naturally, I failed to submit an application on time,” Yauhen Skrabets said.

We remind that the young activist was forcibly drafted to the army and since September 21 2009. Since that time he is serving in Zhlobin.

The military enlistment office “hunted” the Brest Young Front activist. He was even kidnapped by militia and forcefully taken to hospital.

Though the youth activists has serious problems with the backbone and can’t serve in the army, the medical examination, carried out on a demand of the military enlistment office, found the young man fit for military service.

The so called “politically motivated draft campaign” was launched against youth activists in Belarus. They are forcefully called up for military service in violation of the law though they have grounds for deferments.
