Foreign tourists in Belarus will be offered tours to kolkhozes

It is planned to introduce the process of agricultural works to tourists visiting Belarus.

As BelaPAN learnt from deputy minister of sport and tourism Cheslau Shelha, the tourist sector will use opportunities of farms yards, agricultural production cooperatives and water resources.

Opportunities offered by former kolkhozes, now agricultural production cooperatives, should be used in development of the agricultural tourism in 2010, the deputy minister noted. It is planned to organize tourist enterprises on a base of agricultural production cooperatives that will demonstrate the process of farm activities and carry out workshops for visitors.

For example, organizing workshops on making jams and pickled food is expected. Tourist enterprises have been created on a base of four agricultural production cooperatives. Their number is expected to grow 2- or 3-fold in 2010.
