The reason for expulsion of Tatsyana Shaputska was student’s participation in the Civil Society Forum of “Eastern Partnership” in Brussels on November 16-17.

The expulsion of the press-secretary of the organization from the Belarusian State University was announced by the leader of “Young Front” Zmitser Dashkevich.

The reason for the student’s expulsion was participation in the Civil Society Forum of “Eastern Partnership” in Brussels on November 16-17 without permission of the dean’s office of the faculty of law. Students of Shaputska’s group plan to demand the dean to reverse the decision, Dashkevich said.

Information about possible expulsion of the activist was received on the first day of the forum. A representative of the European Commission and “Democracy and Human Rights” panel moderator Eugeniusz Smolar posed a question about possible expulsion of Tatsyana Shaputska to the chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions Leanid Kozik, who was taking part in the forum.

“Mr Kozik answered to that that in case of Shaputska’s expulsion he would organize a manifestation on her support personally,” Dashkevich said then.
