Tatsyana Kim: “I am waiting for Lukashenka to release my son too”

“I am waiting for Lukashenka to release other political prisoners, my son Andrei Kim and Syarhei Parsyukevich,” Tatsyana Kim said in an interview to the Charter’97 press-centre.

“I hope for that very much. I am very happy for Alyaksandr Kazulin. His release is a victory of the whole Belarusian nation,” told the mother of a political prisoner Andrei Kim.

The youth leader Andrei Kim was sentenced to a year and a half in a colony. He was found guilty of participation in beating a traffic policeman Yury Sychou on January 21. He was also an accused in the Process of Fourteen, for participation in a protest rally of market vendors on January 10. His guilt wasn’t confirmed in the court. The video footage offered by the KGB, Interior Ministry and the Belarusian TV, it is seen that Sychou was hit by another policeman. Andre Kim wasn’t near he policeman at all.

An appeal was filed on May 2, but as judge is on a leave, consideration of the case is postponed for June, Andrei Kim’s lawyer Tamara Sidarenka said.

One of the leaders of the movement of businessmen, a political prisoner Syarhei Parsyukevich had been sentenced to 2.5 years of imprisonment for participation in a protest rally of market vendors in Minsk on January 10. Syarhei Parsyukevich was arrested on March 4. The Vitsiebsk entrepreneur was detained for the alleged “violence against a militiaman.”When he served the administrative arrest in the detention centre in Minsk, he was brutally beaten up by an officer of the prison Alyaksandr Dulub, but in order to avoid a punishment, the officer charged Parsyukevich with attacking him.
