“Liliya Ananich should have introduced criminal responsibility for viewing websites”

“The statement of Liliya Ananich about the desire to control the Web in the way China does, could be explained by powerlessness and elementary illiteracy. The most simple and obvious way occurs to her, which is to forbid. Once again Belarus is to come out for the whole world as a backward banana country”, told the editor-in-chief of the website on Belarusian Web electroname.com, commenting on the statement of the deputy Minister.

As said by the expert, “it is rater easy to bypass Chinese filters, when you want it”.

“On the other hand, the simple fact of being blacklisted will become a high-quality mark for a website. It will become acknowledgement of merits by the government, and will attract additional attention of viewers to the site. Liliya Ananich should have offered not only blocking of unwanted websites, but to introduce criminal responsibility for their visiting. Without that blocking information on the web looks inefficient,” the editor of electroname.com noted.

The Information Ministry of Belarus favour registration of news websites. It has been stated today by the first deputy Information Minister Liliya Ananich. As said by her, a problem of “flows of deceptive information from foreign websites” exists in Belarus. “But there is experience of China, that has blocked access of such websites to its territory,” Ananich believes.
