A rally of the youth organisation of the Belarusian Popular Front party “Moladz BNF” dedicated to the International Students' Day ended in detentions.

On November 17 near the Belarusian National Technical University members of the “Moladz BNF” handed out the Declaration of Rights of Belarusian students, created by students of Belarusian universities in 2002-2004.

As the leader of the “Moladz BNF” Franak Vyachorka said to BelaPAN, the declaration was created by students who faced gross violations of their rights. “This declaration is based on the Universal Declaration of human rights,” F. Vyachorka said.

After the young people started to hand out the texts of declaration in the building of the university’s main building, four activists and a photographer Uladzimir Hrydzin were detained by the guard service.

The young people were taken to the rector’s office. The administration of the university called in police, and the detained were taken to the police department of Savetski district of Minsk, at which territory the BNTU is situated.
